Here contained is the report of the court of Uilliam and Constance, baron and baroness of the Debatable Lands, at the Debatable Lands Twelfth Night Celebration 18 January AS 48, Jorundr hinn Rotinn, Comet Pursuivant, reporting herald.
During barony meeting.
Their Excellencies welcomed and thanked all who attended this day, and wished that they enjoy good food and have fun.
Their Excellencies desired the presence of Lady Sarab bint Alima. They had seen much of the work done by Sarab for the barony, including making all the site tokens for the Agincourt event, even though she no longer lives within the barony. This pleased Them and so They awarded her a Green Comet. Scroll calligraphy by Kieran MacRae with Illumination by Odriana vander Brugghe.

The Assassin game that Baron Liam ran this day was much fun for all involved, and only one was left alive at the end. The victor was Adell who attended her first event this day.
The annual cookie competition was held this year and was run by THL Muirgheal inghean Dubhghaill. The Baron's choice was Elizabeth Arrowsmith who made peanut butter cookies. The Baroness' choice was Abbatissa Dreye of Banneberi who made raspberry and pink peppercorn meringue. The populace's choice was Abbatissa Dreye of Banneberi. The King of Misrule's choice was Abbatissa Dreye of Banneberi. The Queen of Misrule's choice was Myfanwy ferch Rhiannon who made flourless pizzeles.
Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope ran a heraldic quest this day. She first wished to thank everybody who brought their banners to be used for the quest. Then she wished to announce that there were 25 people who participated in the quest this day, the youngest of which was Otto, age 6. Since there was no one winner as many had completed the quest successfully, the winner would be chose by lottery from those who had correctly completed the quest. The chosen winner was Beatrix.
Mistress Arianna of Wynthrope and Lady Ceindrich ferch Elidir ran a boffer pillow fight tournament this day. There were at least 16 contestants. The third place was Hanse Drachenstein, in second place was Joe, and the overall winner was Gwion ab Willem. The hororable mentions for most dramatic deaths went to Kathryn and Rioka.
Their Excellencies then called for Sir Maghnus de Cnoc in Iora to attend Them. They wished to thank him for bolstering the holiday spirit this day by playing Krampus. They wished to thank him for being a good sport as he got the beating of his life from many children as well as being very hairy.
Lady Abbatissa Dreye of Banneberi was invited forward for she wished to pay her taxes. Abbatissa delivered many award medallions for the baronial awards that she had made so that the baron and baroness could continue to recognize those who had done good things.
It was remarked that there was one who had not submitted her taxes due to the barony. It was hoped that by seeing the good example of her mother Lady Isabel Fleuretan would be inspired to also deliver her taxes. No taxes were forthcoming however, so Their Excellencies were forced to begin remarking upon all the things Isabel was known to do. She was an autocrat. She was deputy baronial signet. Isabel also was a frequent retainer. Thus, even though she was remiss with paying her taxes Their Excellencies were moved to award her a Gold Comet. There was a competition to determine the next Arts and Sciences champion of the barony. THL Ishiyama Gen'tarou Yori'ie ran the competition as the outgoing champion. There were 13 entrants this year. Their Excellencies remarked that this tournament was one of Their favorite things every year because they get to see all the great work done by Their populace. It was however one of the most challenging as well due to having to choose just one winner among so many worthy entries. They did however make a choice. This day They were most inspired by the work of Lady Sumayya al Ghazziya who made a leather matara, a kind of water bottle. Ishiyama then gave her the newly created champion's regalia. The scroll was calligraphed by Kieran MacRae.
The bardic champion was held this day as well. As the outgoing champion Master William de Montegilt ran the competion. The attendance was light yet might this year as there were only two entrants. Their Excellencies first wished to recognize Lady Alyssa von Stahlgeist who participated for the second time this year, and so to encourage and recognize her for this Their Excellencies bestowed on her a personal token, it was also Alyssa's birthday this day, so Their Excellencies wished to invite the populace in wishing her a happy birthday. The winner of the competition was decided. It was to be the duo of Lady Bugga Billibit and Master William de Montegilt. Scroll by Kieran MacRae.
There were yet more championships to be held this day. The baronial brewing champion was also ready to be replaced with a successor. There were six mighty entries, yet only one could be considered the official baronial brew for the next year. Their Excellencies determined that They favored the Sage Sekanjabin that had been made for this day by Lady Abbatissa Dreye of Banneberi, and so declared her as Their baronial brewing champion. Their Excellencies invited Master Ian Damebridge of Wychwood, called Huon to attend Them. There had been much talk with Huon about his desire for citizenship in the Debatable Lands, though he lived outside its borders. After consideration and consultation with Their Majesties, Timothy and Gabrielle, Their Excellencies were pleased to consider this request. They then heard words describing the worth and dedication of Huon to the society, the kingdom and the barony from Comtesse Elena d'Artois and Odriana vander Brugghe. Upon hearing these words Their Excellencies were pleased to grant Huon citizenship in the Debatable Lands. A scroll for the occasion had been calligraphed by Kieran MacRae with illumination by Odriana vander Brugghe with words by Baron Uilliam Mac an Tsaoir.
Their Excellencies wished everyone safe travels as they headed home and for all to have much fun for the rest of the event.
